About Asmita Medical Foundation & Research Centre


ASMITA MEDICAL FOUNDATION & RESEARCH CENTRE is a charitable trust registered with Charity Commissioner Office,Pune, Maharashtra with the registration number E- 4507 on 01.02.2006, The trust has focused on the activities which will empower the underprivileged girls & women. The trust conducts various activities under the banner of ‘Asmita Movement‘.

Asmita movement was born to support families with only girls as their children, to give them guidance, to educate and strengthen their daughters , so as not to view them as a burden, just someone to be married off, but as equal members of society who can support their families and make them proud. They have been provided with livelihood opportunities through nursing aid courses and many other self-development activities. However over the years the movement is not only restricted to families with only girl child but it has encompassed all the needy girls & women.

Project Udaan

Through Asmita Movement’s flagship project, ‘Project Udaan’, Sanitary Pad Vending Machines were donated to 51 girl schools Mainly of Pune Municipal Corporation and good quality sanitary pads were made available to all the girls.

Project Jagruti

During the covid pandemic lockdown a special drive was undertaken under project Jagruti to spread awareness of HPV amongst the lady teachers & staff of select schools.

During the Covid crisis many parents had to face financial crisis. Therefore, with the thought that the education of girls should not be hindered, in June 2021, Asmita Movement provided the fees for talented and promising 50 needy girls in 9 schools.
